A first for
Kenyan touch rugby

In December 2026, a Kenyan national touch rugby team will play abroad for the first time — at the Muscat 6s in Muscat, by formal invitation of Oman Rugby.

The squad is selected on merit at a national selection camp in September, prepared over ten weeks, and travels under Touch Kenya, the national touch development body. Every match is played under the Federation of International Touch (FIT) 5th Edition rules.

Oman Rugby has also invited Kenya back for the Oman Touch 6s in March 2027 — December is the first step in a standing relationship between the two touch communities.

This is the moment the sport gets a flag. The players who wear the shirt — and the brand on it — become the founding story of touch rugby in Kenya.

Budget

What the tour costs

About KES 1.5M for twelve people. Accommodation is hosted by the Oman team, so every shilling goes to getting there and playing.
